Donna D’Errico, 45, Reveals She’s Never Had a Swim Class

Fitness model Donna D’Errico may be a “Baywatch” icon but that doesn’t mean she can handle the water.

The 46-year-old reveals in her upcoming book, “Being Women,” that she still doesn’t know how to swim and has never taken a swim class.

“I can’t even tread water. I feel like I’m sinking. If I put my arms up I feel like I’m suffocating and I don’t want to touch anything,” she told Newsweek.

The model thinks “the reason I haven’t worked out is because I don’t feel comfortable going to a gym. I don’t think it’s my issue, it’s an issue with the culture.”

Even though she has tried to work out, she’s been unable to figure out how to do it correctly because “I don’t know how to do that.”

She also revealed that she suffers from a severe back condition and has had back surgery multiple times. In fact, she still suffers from low back pain every now and then.

“I’ve always had low back pain so I just tried to stay healthy and worked out my whole life,” she said. “Now I know it’s because I don’t have the proper form.”

“I wish I had spent the whole time taking class, being organized.”

Her back condition does create an interesting career challenge.

“I have to walk so that when I land people don’t land on my back. But after practice and exercise, if I’m walking in sand then they land on my back.”
